Earlier this year, Ergatta released the Ergatta Concept2 Connection Kit, bringing their game-based rowing platform to the Concept2 RowErg®. They have recently announced the launch of Wavelength, their latest game and addition to their suite of interactive workout experiences.
Wavelength promises to be Ergatta’s flagship game, doubling down on learnings from six years of producing gaming content for cardio equipment. Like all Ergatta games, Wavelength is designed to be highly motivating and personalized to each member. In the game, you soar through 3D worlds to hit targets, dodge obstacles, and earn stars to level up. Stay above water to avoid losing points and earn stars in each session to grow more powerful for your next one. With every twist and turn, Wavelength keeps members locked in with a variety of ways to score points, unlock perks, power up, and reach the next level in campaigns.
Inspired by classic gaming, Wavelength’s level progression system guides you through sequential workout stages to conquer virtual worlds. You follow a structured program, earning stars, advancing through levels, and unlocking new challenges while mastering different gameplay modes. This system is designed to build a lasting fitness habit, especially for people who may sometimes lack the motivation to work out consistently.
Over the years, Ergatta honed the insight that people not only have different fitness levels but also have distinct gameplay preferences: unique game structures and mechanics that resonate with them specifically. Wavelength offers six gameplay themes, each bringing different experiences, challenges, and motivations. Whether you like weaving through dynamic obstacles, hitting targets in consistent patterns, choosing different paths to winning, or just staying above the water line without being penalized for pushing too hard, Wavelength has a gameplay experience that will appeal to every member and mood.
One insight behind Wavelength’s development is that in-game benefits drive long-term habit formation better than less concrete mechanics, like workout streaks or badges. To solve for this, Wavelength features an innovative new perks system. This system allows members to unlock different abilities, from boosting the rewards from targets to protection from point detractors like obstacles and water. Perks get stronger over time as members earn more stars, reinforcing habit formation loops and bringing advanced levels within reach for more members.
“At this point Ergatta’s been in the trenches of figuring out how to build lasting fitness habits through games for six years,” said Tom Aulet, Co-Founder and CEO of Ergatta. “Wavelength is the culmination of our expertise and learnings to date, and is the game I’m most proud to bring to our members. For anyone who has struggled to maintain a consistent fitness, or finds that the standard trainer-led classes and programs don’t do the trick, Wavelength is for you.”
Wavelength is now available to all Ergatta members as part of their subscription. As part of their Black Friday sale, they are currently offering $100 of the price of a Concept2 Connection Kit, which can be purchased direct from them.
