Designed for on water rowers, the Dynamic RowErg better simulates the physics experienced while rowing a racing shell and the "dynamics" between the boat and athlete. On the Dynamic erg, a user's body mass is relatively stationary while components of the machine actively move in response to the rowing motion. This is similar to the way a lightweight rowing shell moves around the rower's body. The Dynamic RowErg is recommended only for people who row on the water.

Is The Dynamic Right For Me?
Athletes who are looking for a more specific technical approach should consider the Dynamic. It encourages the rower to use the same precise coordination, connection and power application required to achieve maximum speed in a racing boat. The RowErg (known previously as the Model D) is still the standard for rowers training for indoor rowing competitions, attempting world records, or submitting scores for recruiting. Compare rowing on the Dynamic with rowing on the RowErg.
I'd recommend the Dynamic Indoor Rower to anyone who wants to progress their technical ability. It is a great machine and a great step forward into a more technical specific boat feel machine. Anyone will be able to use the machine, but will they be able to use it to the best of their potential! That is what people need to ask themselves and then train, train, train, to achieve it!

Compact Footprint
The Dynamic must be stored fully assembled, but with a small 76 in (193 cm) footprint when compared to a RowErg on Slides (132 in/335 cm), you’ll be able to get more Dynamics in your boathouse. As a product aimed at on water rowers, it is important to understand the function of the Dynamic erg and not choose it just for its smaller footprint.
