The 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games were held August 3-6 in Madison, Wisconsin—the last time the Games will be held in this location—and Concept2 was on site to support the event that crowns the Fittest on Earth™ year after year. It was a busy week for Concept2 employees as our ergs were well represented in every athlete division throughout the competition. Divisions included individual, teams, adaptive and age group. A first for Concept2 this year was integration into the scoring system during the individual and team erg events. Whether you were watching in person or at home, the scoring was taking data directly from the PM5 monitors, updating the scoreboard in real time. The workouts that implemented this were multi-movement, and were using the Calorie unit on the PM5 monitor. On the back end, our ErgRace software was used—the same software used to run the Marathon Row during the CrossFit Games in 2018. Our Concept2 support team on the ground this year noted that the use of Concept2 machines for activations and clinics seemed to be nonstop. While setting up for one of the livestream events, the SkiErg was used in a morning workout with well over a hundred individuals, and ergs were used in the spectator fitness area during workouts with HWPO, PRVN, Mayhem Athlete and other notable brands.
We are proud to say that Concept2 equipment has been used in the CrossFit Games every year since its inception in 2007 in Aromas, California. With the exception of the 2020 CrossFit Games, Concept2 has sent staff to support the use of our equipment in every Games. We send our congratulations to each and every athlete who competed in the Games—they were truly inspiring to watch, and we are continually humbled to support their accomplishments. Who knows where the 2024 CrossFit Games will be held next year, but we can’t wait to find out!
