Employee Profile: Sophie Towlson

Sophie Towlson joined the Concept2 office in Nottingham, England, in 2012, and uses her many talents to support our teams in accounting, bookkeeping, and customer service. She’s always willing to lend a hand on the many projects that come up, whether it is troubleshooting for a customer or helping to pack up parts in the warehouse.

Before Concept2, Sophie participated in charity rows at her former employer. “I’m not sure that quite counts as rowing!” she jokes. Now, she stays in shape with HIIT (high intensity interval) workouts, which she loves because they are “short and sweet but it gets it over and done with.” Most mornings, Sophie skis 1k or 2k on the SkiErg before starting work—not an easy task for a mum with two little boys!

Sophie loves working with customers. “I love when everything runs smoothly and we are able to help customers and resolve any problems, which then makes the customer happy.” As our customers know, we take responding to inquiries and questions seriously; Sophie is part of the team to ensure we provide thorough and helpful information.

We don’t always get the chance to meet our colleagues from across the pond, but when we do, it’s always a nice reminder that we’re on the same team no matter how far apart we are. In Sophie’s case she says, “My favorite C2 memory is of my visit to the Vermont office and meeting everybody, and seeing how the process is done. It was a lovely trip.”

At home, Sophie stays busy with her two sons, Blake (5) and Ralph (8 months). She loves to be outdoors with her family and her sons are both animal lovers. “Although life is hectic enough that we can’t commit to any pets just yet!” Sophie and her partner Adam are engaged to be married in April 2021.
