If you are looking for an excuse to start exercising, get back into erging, or ramp up your erging routine, this is your nudge to start now! With the pressure of New Year’s Resolutions, people often find they are not able to keep up their goals, or set expectations too high, or it just is not the right time. If you are feeling excited about getting into a routine, or need a gentle push, this is that push. Whether you are reading this in December, January, or the middle of the year, if it feels right to kick things off, you should.
January 1st is just a date, it may mark the beginning of the new calendar year, but it may not coincide with the stressors or demands in your life. That is why we encourage you to start your fitness journey when it feels right for you. If you do feel that making a New Year’s Resolution and starting on January 1st, is the best for you, we support that too! In fact, our January Revolution’s Challenge, lets you choose the number of days, hours, or calories you want to commit to.
Okay, so we are encouraging you to start, now what? It can feel daunting to set a time or distance goal when you may not know where your current fitness is at. If you have access to a Concept2 RowErg, just row! Sit down, strap your feet in, and begin rowing, you do not have to know how long you are going to go for, and you can let your body decide if it’s going to be a short day, or if you want to rack in the meters. The key is to just get started. The same applies for the SkiErg and BikeErg, just ski or just ride and simply start moving. Every workout counts. It does not have to be a personal record or something grand.
For further guidance, check out our free Training Plans, or use our free ErgData app to access Workouts of the Day or erg on the RealTime Loop. You can also connect with our Concept2 Community on Facebook, and chat with like-minded individuals who are on a similar path.
Whether you want to start January 1st, or are ready to ramp up today, the most important thing is to start when it feels right for you. We are happy to share resources and ideas to help you get to your goal. Our Challenges and resources are available year-round to help you reach your fitness goals. So why not get started today?
