Can You Row an Ocean from your Living Room?

Yes, now you can! 

The world’s premier ocean rowing event, the World’s Toughest Row-Atlantic, begins the Atlantic crossing race on December 11th at 07:50 AM UTC. People from across the globe gather annually to test themselves against the elements and compete in rowing 4,800 km from the Canary Islands, Spain to Antigua.

Concept2® is excited to announce a collaboration with the World’s Toughest Row as their Official Training Partner. And now, you can join in the row, virtually, with your Concept2 RowErg®. You can row along individually adding your meters to the cumulative total, or you can put together a virtual crew and compete with the on the water crews racing the Atlantic. Either way, you can add your meters to the Concept2 Logbook.

If you want to take on this challenge without facing Mother Nature you will need a Concept2 RowErg and a logbook account which you can sign up for here: log.concept2.com 

To row along as an Individual, once logged in to the logbook, choose Edit Profile, then click on Affiliation. Click on the dropdown arrow and enter ‘Worlds Toughest Row’ and select it. Click on the Update button. Now you can add your meters to a virtual community total that is racing the athletes on the water. If you would like to create your own Virtual Crew to complete the WTR, we can help you create an Affiliation. Please contact us via log.concept2.com/contact. Be certain to choose ‘Request to Create New Affiliation’ for the Topic and include an Affiliation Name that includes ‘WTR’. Once you have finished the form, click on the Send button. When the affiliation has been confirmed, share it with your crew mates for them to join.

The World’s Toughest Row–Pacific starts in June each year with teams participating from around the world. The annual edition of this race has teams starting from the historic harbor of Monterey, California, and completing the race in Kaua’i, Hawaii.
