This year, we are excited to announce a new Concept2 Logbook Challenge for May: Mindful May Meters. May is nationally recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, and we want to help raise awareness and raise funds towards charities that extend support, foster public education, and advocate for policies that prioritize the well-being of individuals and families affected by mental illness. At Concept2, we believe that physical activity greatly contributes to not only a strong body, but also a sound mind. We hope you will join us in this new challenge!

The Mindful May Meters challenge is based on consistency- the more days you row, ski, or ride at least 1,000 meters, the more money you help raise! There are also three levels of participation, and we aim to raise up to $20,000. To get to Level One, you need to do at least 1000m on any 10 days in May, for Level Two complete 15 days, and for Level Three complete 20 days. For each level you reach, Concept2 will donate $1 towards Level One, $3 towards Level Two, and $5 towards Level Three participants, up to an overall total of $20,000.

All money raised will be split equally between our chosen charities, which we are excited to share more about.

NAMI VT
NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We are proud to be supporting the independent Vermont chapter in our inaugural Mindful May Meters Challenge. NAMI Vermont supports, educates, and advocates so that all communities, families, and individuals affected by mental illness or mental health challenges can build better lives. All programs are free.

Active Minds
Founded by Alison Malmon following the suicide of her older brother, Brian, Active Minds was created to change the way we approach mental health in the United States, specifically for teens and young adults. After 20 years, Active Minds is active in over 1,000 college campuses and has impacted nearly 8 million students' lives. They give young adults the tools and support from strategic inclusive peer mental health events and groups. Concept2 is excited to help support their many programs.

Boulder Crest Foundation
Boulder Crest is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on ensuring the military, veteran, and first responder communities can live great lives in the aftermath of trauma. They facilitate Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) through transformative programs, world-class training, and education initiatives, research, and advocacy. As Josh Goldberg, the CEO of Boulder Crest Foundation says, “We're training people to struggle well so they can navigate life's ups and downs and live the great lives they deserve.” Concept2 is proud to be supporting Boulder Crest, and enable the education, learning, research, and social policy change that they foster with their organization to support US military, veterans, and first responders.

The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project is a leading nonprofit founded in 1998 that provides suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. They provide a 24/7 crisis hotline, peer support, advocacy, public education, and instrumental research. Concept2 stands with The Trevor Project to help end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.

It's Easy to Participate in the Mindful May Meters Challenge!

First, be sure you have a free Concept2 Online Logbook to participate in the Mindful May Meters Challenge—or any Concept2 challenges, for that matter. It is simple to set up your online logbook. By doing so, you will be opened up to a world of training opportunities like keeping track of your total meters, analyzing your progress, taking part in challenges, and comparing your results against others worldwide.

Next, sign up for the challenge from your online logbook page. Then, start logging those meters! We received feedback that other challenges we offer can be tough with how many meters you must complete. With this challenge, you just need to complete a minimum of 1,000 meters for as little as 10 days on a Concept2 RowErg, SkiErg, or BikeErg. Just be sure to use ErgData to log your meters, or enter your meters into your online logbook.

Your participation in the Mindful May Meters Challenge will enable our four 2025 organizations to better serve their missions. We are excited to provide our support directly to organizations that raise awareness and raise funds towards the well-being of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
